By blending a combination of Federal, State, and Local grants, Mercer County Head Start/Early Head Start is able to provide these unique opportunities to children in need in our community. All of our services are provided free of charge to participants.

Center Based, Full Day, Part Year
- Children meet in a classroom Monday through Friday for 6 hours per day
September through May.
- Classrooms located at 12 sites throughout the Mercer County
- Nutritional lunches and snacks
- Health and Developmental screenings
- Services designed to help children strengthen emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development
- Monthly parent meetings
- Family Advocates visit in the home on a regular basis to help with parenting skills.
- Creative Curriculum Developmental Continuum assessment tool

Pregnant women
- Bi-monthly home visits to pregnant women by Home Visitors
- Focus on health, nutrition and preparation for the birth of a new baby
- Referrals to community agencies/programs as needed
- Prenatal and newborn home visits by EHS nurse
