Mercer County Head Start / Early Head Start is currently accepting applications for employment for the positions listed below.

General description of the position: Substitute for classroom teacher and/or classroom assistant who has reported off. Follow daily schedule; monitor students

    High school diploma or GED - ACT 33/34 Clearances and FBI Federal Background check - Reliable transportation

Early Head Start Manager

40 Hours per week, 12 months
Benefit package is included with this position

General description of the position: Early Head Start provides comprehensive services to pregnant women, and to children, from birth to three years of age. The Early Head Start Manager will assume responsibilities to oversee the Early Head Start service area component of the Mercer County Head Start Program. The Early Head Start Manager must be able to communicate and work cooperatively with the Head Start Management Team.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • FBI Federal Background check; Penna. Child Abuse History Clearance; Penna. State Police Criminal Record Check
  • Infant and early childhood knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of successful parenting techniques
  • Administrative and supervisory experience
  • Maintain current CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Valid Driver's License / Own Transportation
  • Willing to travel throughout Mercer County

PA Pre-K Counts Classroom Teacher

25 hours per week, 196 days per year

General description of the position: Part-time (5 hours per day) classroom teacher position available at Farrell location

  • BS in Early Childhood Education, or BS in a related field WITH Early Childhood Certification
  • FBI Federal Background check; Penna. Child Abuse History Clearance; Penna. State Police Criminal Record Check
  • Valid Driver’s License / Own Transportation
  • Willing to travel throughout Mercer County
  • Relevant experience working with young children preferred
  • Basic computer skills desirable
